Today Team Tui and Team Kea had an Expo day presenting our Lcs we have been working on since the start of term 4. Me and my buddy vake created a Tongan Wall Piece, Lots of kids and Alduts came up with very intresting ideas. Even Mr Herlihy admired our wonderful creations and Learn.
This is my Summer Learning Journey activity for todays task. It was about gathering superheros and making a comic book with effects. My 2 Characters are Jonah from tonga and Mosese With The Taulausese, Mosese being the islander and Jonah from Tonga as the Tongan God.
Today Team Tui was learning about Plan A Holiday meaning that we have to multiply the travel cost, food cost, activity cost and the total cost. Me and my buddies decided to go Brisbane and vist Suncorp Stadium for the RLWC and represent Tonga. We are still looking for places to stay and places to eat because so far we have spen $7000.00
Today Room 11 was focusing on using the strategy Algorithim. Because some of us students need to learn how to use Algorithim, This image here shows Stage 8 Algorithim but luckily I am a good problem solver. My fellow pairs and I helped eachother to get through Multiplication by using Algorithim. Room 11 is just doing a slight revise so we can use Algorithim confedently
Last Friday , Glen Taylor School celebrated Athletics. It was a chance for us students to dress up in our house colours and compete in several challenges with other house colours. I was in the best house which was THE MIGHTY KAIAHIKU ! ( Yellow) This activity showen in this image is High Jump, Every 20 minutes we had to rotate activities. There was fun activities such as High Jump , Long Jump, Shot Put , Discus , etc. To be honest this was the best athletics day I have ever experinced for my 8 years at Glen Taylor School.
Today Glen Taylor School had an amazing vist from ISLAND BREEZE. How cool is that ? They talked about how different we are and dont be like others always be yourself and be different. They showed up to our school with a Hawaiian performance for they’re intro, A Samoan dance and a Traditional Maori song to end the wonderful entertainment. The MC Rudy showed us how different he evean was back in his days, Rudy even use to get SPANKED ! How painful would that be.
Today Team Tui learnt about Real numbers. Counting numbers are starting from 1 to the right. Irrational numbers are difficult to tell but basically it is like a fraction problem where the decimal version goes on forever. A countinuing number is called a Infinite some people always get Infinate numbers mixed up with In-Finte.
Today me and my buddy Spencer did an Infrencing Task. This task is about Infrencing a Level 4 story. After reading a paragraph Me and Spencer had to answer some quetions about the story, It was like a little quiz. We always have to complete this if our group is not working with teacher. For me this is like a warm up book for my reading PAT assesments coming up later this term. This means that I have to start showing my infrencing skills.
Today Team Tui was focusing on Probability Games. This image shows me and my friends playing Greedy Pig, basically you roll the dice and you have to keep adding all the numbers you roll. But if you rool a 1 you have to restart all your numbers. 3 of us succeded but 1 failed because he kept rolling 1’s you just have to add up until you get past 50. It is a very fun maths game for kids to learn their addition.
This week 4D was learning about Graph/Chart. It was on subjects or classes the most popular class was Food Technology and the unpopular class was German class. Next we had to create a graph on the students vote to show who’s class got most and who’s class got less. Lastly we had to anwser some quetions about this Chart.
